Letter from the President

Dear Colleagues,
It is my great pleasure to invite you to the 10th EURETINA Congress, which will take place in Paris from 2 - 5 September 2010. As formally
announced in November 2008, The European Society of Retina Specialists (EURETINA) will, for the first time, partner their annual meeting with the European Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgeons Congress (ESCRS). The 10th EURETINA Congress will immediately precede and overlap with the XXVIII ESCRS Congress, which runs from 4 – 8 September also at the Palais des Congrès.

The Programme Committee of EURETINA is planning an interesting and exciting scientific programme for 2010, which will feature world leaders in the field of medical and surgical retina. Throughout the Congress the latest developments will be presented at the 13 Main Sessions and, for the first time, at two joint EURETINA/ESCRS Symposia on Saturday, September 4th and Sunday, September 5th.

The programme will also include important scientific contributions including a combination of popular features from 2009 and new features for
2010. These include the EUROLAM Symposium, Amsterdam Retina Debate, ARVO symposium, French and British Vitreoretinal Symposium
(CFSR/BEAVRS) and FAN Club.

The 2010 Congress will once again present a range of popular Surgical Skills training courses, while there will also be a wide range of other courses on offer, including 24 Instructional Courses and the all-day Retinal Detachment and Uveitis courses. Free Papers, Electronic Posters and Video Presentations will once again feature.

On behalf of the Board and Programme Committee I encourage you to join us in Paris for what promises to be our most stimulating and
memorable congress yet.

Bill Aylward
President and Chairman of the Programme Committee
