This 5km Charity Run is open to the general public, delegates, exhibitors and friends of the society who are attending the EURETINA Congress at the Palais des Congres, Paris.
A unique 5km fun run at dawn – with proceeds going to the sight saving charity Orbis UK. Orbis transforms lives through the prevention & treatment of blindness. With their network of partners, supporters, staff & sector leading volunteers, Orbis empowers communities with the skills & resources necessary to fight blindness on a local level.
The 5km distance makes the race the perfect fun run for early morning runners of all levels / abilities.

Registration Fee: €45 per participant
It is important that you complete the registration form with the correct information. Online registration will close on Thursday 5th September 2019, at 23.59 (onsite registration will be available on the day of the race).
The registration fee of €45 includes: start number, chip, official race t-shirt, first aid, bag deposit service, changing location, refreshment points, donation of €30 to Orbis.

Awards Ceremony
Individual performance times will be recorded electronically to aid efficient and accurate selection of fastest times. Gold, silver and bronze medals will be awarded immediately after the race to the top three in both male and female categories. These are divided into four age categories as outlined below.

Race Information
EURETINA is organising the 8th edition of the RETINA RACE – a non competitive road race of 5km, with a race course measured and certified. The start time is 07:00am and the award ceremony will be held at 07:30am. The race time limit is 45 MINUTES. The organizing committee reserves the right to modify the course according to needs of the authorities.
Health and Safety
Although the organizing committee will provide a medical service along the course. please note that this race is at your own risk and therefore please be sure of your own health condition before participating. Under French law, a medical certificate not more than 1 year old must be presented in order to participate. Failure to present a medical cert may result in loss of registration fee.
Each athlete will receive a chip timer at registration. The chip must be returned to the staff after the race finishes. Athletes that forget to wear the chip or don’t wear it in the correct way, will not have a recorded result in the final ranking.
Time Limit
The time limit for the 5km race is 45 minutes.
Start
The start of the 5km non competitive race will be at 07:00 am.
Refreshment Points
There will be a refreshment point during the race. A light breakfast will also be provided after the race.
Final Considerations
The Organizing Committee reserves the right to close the registration without further notice and the ability to change the race regulations according to the requirements for improved race organisation.
