to detect intraocular pressure changes in eyes underwent pars plana vitrectomy with silicone oil tamponade
University Eye Clinic, Clinical Center 'Zvezdara', Belgrade, Serbia
we have analysed postoperative intraocular pressure changes in 50 vitrectomized eyes, with silicone oil tamponade, which had normal values of preoperative intraocular pressure
postoperative intraocular pressure, above normal limits, have been detected in 20 vitrectomized eyes (40%). Among them, 7 operated eyes (35%) had well controlled intraocular pressure with antiglaucoma therapy, 12 operated eyes (60%) were treated with both antiglaucoma and anti-inflamatory therapy while 1 vitrectomized eye (5%) failed to respond to any medical treatment, requiring silicone oil removal.
intraocular pressure changes in eyes underwent pars plana vitrectomy with silicone oil tamponade can be effectively controlled with available medical therapy
