Abstract Details

Purpose:

To evaluate morphological features of Chronic CSC by Spectral-domain OCT.

Setting:

All patients underwent Visual Acuity measurement, Fundus Fluorescein angiography and Optical Coherence Tomography.

Methods:

Observational case series of 30 eyes of 26 patients of Chronic CSC . All patients underwent Visual Acuity measurement, Optical coherence tomography and Fundus Fluorescein Angiography. The main Outcome measures included morphologic changes in Retinal Pigment Epithelium (RPE), detatched retina and sub-retinal space in SD-OCT.

Results:

SD-OCT examination showed RPE abnormalities in all 100%eyes (40% had pigment epithelial detatchment(PED) and 76% had RPE irregularity). Fibrinous exudates in sub-retinal space were seen in 11 eyes. Irregularity of posterior retinal surface was seen in 17 eyes(56.7%), intra-retinal cystoid spaces in 6 eyes (20%), thinning of sub-foveal neurosensory retina in 19 eyes (63.3%) and retinoschisis was seen in one eye.

Conclusions:

SD-OCT is an indispensible tool for detailed study and follow-up of chronic CSC
