To demonstrate unusual field defects in a young lady with optic disc drusen
A 24 year old woman presented with floaters in her right eye, acute in onset. She had no other visual complaints. She gave a history of acute blood loss at the time of delivery, 4 months back. All other systemic factors were normal.
Fundus examination showed white patches on the disc in both eyes. She underwent field test, ultrasound and fluorescein angiography, confirming the diagnosis of disc drusen. Both eyes had gross altitudinal field defects.
Disc drusen may sometimes present with gross field defects, which may be related to acute systemic events like hypovolemic shock.
