To report the outcome of early laser treatment in infants with APROP.

Infants undergoing laser photocoagulation for APROP between 2005 & 2014 were evaluated. Infants undergoing laser treatment in ≤ 31 days of life (Group A) and >31 days (Group B) were compared.
195 eyes of 100 infants (44 in group A and 56 in group B) were included. Group A achieved favourable structural outcome in 98.9 % as compared to 81.5% in group B (p< .001) Conclusion: Early laser treatment significantly improved final structural outcome in APROP infants.
This retrospective case series showed significantly higher fibrovascular proliferation before laser in delayed (>31 days) treatment group as compared to early (≤31 days) group (p=.039). Incidence of haemorrhage and tractional retinal detachment after laser was statistically higher in delayed treatment group (p value .03 and .006 respectively).
