To compare the vitrectomy pars plana duration in adjunctive bevacizumab injection 3 days and 7 days prior to surgery
Cicendo Eye Hospital, Bandung, Indonesia
The research subjects were PDR patients with tractional retinal detachment which was given intravitreal bevacizumab injection prior to vitrectomy in Cicendo Eye Hospital and was included to the inclusion criteria. The research subjects were 32 patients. They were divided into 2 groups and were given bevacizumab 3 day or 7 days prior to surgery. Statistical analysis of surgical duration comparation between 2 groups was performed by independent T test
The median of membrane peeling durations in the bevacizumab injection 3 days prior to surgery were 20,91 minutes with the range 4,56 – 61,71 minutes (p=0,59), the median of total durations of surgery were 39,91 minutes with the range 15,26-86,11 minutes (p=0,89) ,the range of endodiathermy frequency were 0-4 (p=0,89) and number of retinal iatrogenic breaks was 1 in each groups. The median of membrane peeling durations in bevacizumab injection 7 days prior to surgery were 20,68 minutes with the range 1,6-55,45 minutes, the median of total durations of surgery were 42,73 minutes with the range 22,25-93,48 minutes, the range of endohiatermy frequency were 0-3. The statistical analysis showed that there were no significant differences between 2 groups.
There was no significant difference of vitrectomy duration between bevacizumab injection 3 days or 7 days prior to vitrectomy
