to determine the correlation between the degree of myopia and axial length (AL) with choroidal thickness (CT).

The participant examined with retinoscope to obtained the best corrected visual acuity based on spherical equivalent. The degree of myopia was classified into low, moderate, high respectively. AL measured using A-scan Ultrasound, and was divided into short, moderate and long, respectively. CT was measured perpendicularly from the outer edge of the retinal pigment epithelium (RPE) to the choroid-scleral interface in 9 areas according to early treatment diabetic retinopathy study (ETDRS) using spectral domain optical coherence tomography (SD-OCT).
Multivariate analysis for the degree of myopia and the axial length obtained insignificant correlation in temporal (p=0,076) and superior (p= 0,074) respectively. However, univariate analysis revealed significant correlation in all areas for the degree of myopia (r= -0,230 – (- 0,407), p= < 0,001 – 0,004) and also the axial length (r= -0,270 – (- 0,453), p=<0,001 – 0,003).
Axial length had a greater correlation with the choroidal thickness compared to the myopia degree
