Letter from the President

Dear Colleagues,

On behalf of the Board and Officers of the European Society of Retina Specialists I am delighted to welcome you to Nice for the 9th EURETINA Congress.

From year to year we have seen the programme expand and develop into the exciting and comprehensive scientific programme we have this year. The on-going hard work and dedication on the part of my Programme Committee colleagues has contributed significantly to the success of the Congress and I am grateful for their support.

The 9th EURETINA Congress brings to you nine Main Sessions where invited speakers, all experts in their field, will talk about the latest developments in various aspects of retinal surgery and treatment. Other sessions include the ASRS/ESRS Symposium, the EVER/ESRS Symposium, the Amsterdam Retina Debate,
a meeting of the EVI.CT.SE Retina Section, the FAN Club and several Free Paper sessions. The introduction of electronic posters is a new feature of the meeting.

Further to the success of their introduction to the programme last year, we will once again offer a range of surgical skills courses, while there will also be a broad range of other courses on offer including 20 instructional courses and the all-day Retinal Detachment and Uveitis courses.
